As director of the Communications Office, Elizabeth Brassell leads a team of talented professionals responsible for the PLCB’s communications and public relations initiatives. Responsibilities include media relations, message and content development for a variety of internal and external audiences, strategic communications planning, quality control of external communications, event planning and communications counsel and support for all divisions within the PLCB.
Liz joined the PLCB in 2015 following more than 13 years with the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue, an agency responsible for about $35 billion in annual tax collections and nearly $4 billion in yearly lottery sales. Liz began her career with Revenue in Lottery public relations and grew through communications positions of increasing breadth and responsibility until assuming the role of press secretary and director of communications for the agency in 2010.
A native of central Pennsylvania, Liz earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication from Penn State University, majoring in advertising and public relations and minoring in theater arts and business law.
Liz and her husband, Brian, live in the Grantville area, where their time away from work is largely consumed by raising Cayden and Barrett, two young, boisterous boys. Mothering provides endless opportunities for Liz to practice values that have become important to her both at work and at home: integrity, compassion, critical thinking and grace.
