PA  Preferred® Wine Program

Over the years, the PLCB has worked to build relationships with the Pennsylvania Winery Association and individual Pennsylvania wineries and winemakers. Today, Fine Wine & Good Spirits stores feature more than 100 different Pennsylvania wines and sell millions of dollars worth of these wines each year.

To participate in the PA Preferred® Wine Program, a winery must:

  • Be designated as a PA Preferred winery through the Department of Agriculture.
  • Be up-to-date and current on all Limited Winery assessment fees.
  • Only offer its most current vintage for sale in stores.
  • Meet federal labelling standards for Pennsylvania wine, which require that at least 75 percent of the grapes used to make the wine were grown in Pennsylvania.

In-state wineries may select up to 10 products to place in up to 10 Fine Wine & Good Spirits stores of their choosing. Items will be tasted and evaluated prior to acceptance. Each winery must sell at least one case of wine per store, per month to continue participating in the program.

Requests for PA Preferred® wine submissions is expected to take place in September 2023. Please look for program and annual enrollment updates closer to this time.
